Many of Maine’s younger generation of Franco –Americans today don’t speak French and are out of touch with the traditions and language of their parents and grandparents. A legislative task force was established in 2011 to examine Maine's Franco-American population, focused largely on education, jobs and the economy as they pertain to Maine's Franco-Americans.
